Kiguru is near Amboni Primary/Simbara Secondary and very close to the Rhino Fence which is the boundary between the Aberdare National Park and neighboring farming areas. The children attending this school currently drink from untreated rain and surface water sources that are often rife with diseases including Typhoid. Well Aware will install a rainwater catchment and UV filtration system to provide drinking and irrigation water to fulfill the needs of the Kiguru School. They will be using the water for drinking and cooking and for irrigated agriculture to supplement the children's diet as well as bring in additional income for the school.

The Muthuini Primary school is located north of Aberdare National Park near the city of Nyahururu. Current water resources in the area are 1) small rainwater catchment systems (untreated) used by the villagers and 2) untreated surface water reservoirs (including small ponds etc). These water sources are shared with livestock and multiple families and have high risk of contamination. The Muthuini School proposes to use a rainwater catchment and UV filtration system to provide drinking and irrigation water to fulfill their needs. They will be using the water for drinking and cooking, for irrigated agriculture to supplement the children's diet as well as bring in additional income for the school, and for irrigation of newly planted trees on the property to combat regional deforestation that has occurred.

Mutaki Primary is a public primary school in the village of Kooi in the Tana District of Kenya. This area has been suffering from an extended drought during the past four years and the local river and reservoir are now dry for the majority of the year. Groundwater prospects for a bore hole or drilled well at Mutaki are not good. Rainwater collection is the best alternative. The Mutaki Primary School now has access to clean drinking water through a rainwater catchment and Uv filtration system. Well Aware donors funded the solar electric powered system, and 500 and 1000 litre storage tanks. This completes the project begun by The Nobelity Project's installation of a 15,000 liter ferro-cement storage tank and installation of gutters.

Cohn Winery, The Doobie Brothers and the Beebe Family – has also funded the new 4th grade classroom. Our goal is to continue this construction partnership until the school has a quality classroom for each grade, K thru 8.
