Cheptoroi Primary School, Kenya

Cheptoroi Primary School, home to nearly 600 students, currently relies on rainwater or the river nearby. Both sources are highly contaminated and used untreated, causing many waterborne illnesses. Students often miss school and the classrooms are dirty without sufficient water to clean them.

In June 2019, Well Aware drilled a new well at Cheptoroi Primary School to provide the students and the larger community with reliable clean water. Once the well is fully equipped, people will no longer spend time each day walking to the river for water. And, students will be able to focus on their educations.
