Exrock, Laikipia County, Kenya
Exrock had a water well equipped for them by another organization with a windmill that often broke down. The windmill is now irreparable, and the community was retrieving water from another functional borehole 10 kilometers away. The medical clinic did not have the water supply to see many sick community members, and the primary school was poorly attended. Many children in the area have the laborious task of fetching water for their families.
Well Aware added additional water and community infrastructure and training in 2016 to provide clean and lasting water to the schools, medical clinic, and entire community of 4,000 people.
In 2017, Well Aware returned to the community to complete an expansion to the existing well, allowing water access to more people.
