The community of Kimotorok lived solely off of water from hand-dug holes in the ground (pictured here). They struggled to keep children in school, who were often sick from the contaminated water.
In 2018, Well Aware implemented a rainwater collection system, complete with a UV filtration system and large water collection tanks. This serves all 3,000 members of this community and will greatly reduce disease rates and improve the livelihood of all.
Well Aware returned in 2019 to make upgrades and fixes to the original system, prolonging its lifetime and ensuring access to clean water for decades to come.
