Metta, Kenya

The community of Metta has already self-funded a community water project over the last few years. A borehole was drilled, and the community bought a pump and some of the piping, but the system was never installed. Well Aware partnered with Metta to carry out the project and supply the remaining funds needed.

Implementation of this project in 2016 brought lasting clean water supply to the community of 4,000 people, including the health dispensary and the schools that serve about 2,000 students in the area. Photo by: Well Aware Team

The existing infrastructure amplified the impact of this water project, providing the foundation for very promising development in the community.

In 2017, Well Aware returned to the community and completed an expansion of the project, adding an access point at the primary school.
