Meet Charity in Muruku, Kenya, where we broke ground on our 100th project on April 25th, 2022.

Previously, Charity missed class to walk 5 km (3.1 mi) to fetch water from the river multiple times a day. The water was contaminated and oftentimes, because of the long journey, she wasn’t able to collect enough for her family. This prevented her from having the clean water she needed to drink, wash, cook, and focus on her dreams of becoming a doctor.

But, this is all changing! We can’t wait to see Charity be able to go to school regularly, stay healthy, and work towards her dream.
