Faces of Water
Lesokoyo
Tangi Nyeusi, Kenya
Lesokoyo and her mother used to walk 14 km (8.69 miles) to fetch unclean water every day. If that water was depleted, her family would use stagnant water near their home, increasing their chances of retracting waterborne illnesses. But this is no longer Lesokoyo’s story!
For a year now, she has had access to a reliable source of water that gives her more time to study and play and keeps her healthy! She has dreamt of learning more about farming and livestock, and now this is something she has time to do!
“Water will reduce the rate at which people are suffering from diseases such as cholera and amoebic dysentery due to unclean water.”
