Faces of Water

Margaret is a local leader in Muruku and has been a part of the community for 34 years. She used to worry for the peaceful people of her community when unpredictable rainfall patterns caused Muruku to go into a drought. When the water dried up, Margaret and her peers had to buy water from a private, neighboring community or were forced to walk up to 6 kilometers upstream until water was found. Margaret is excited for the new well we drilled in Muruku in April and for her community to have access to clean water because it will benefit everyone immediately.
“This project could not have come at a better time. This will make access to drinking water easier. Hopefully, this can help eradicate the ongoing water crisis.”
