Mashipai is 15 years old and wants to be a nurse one day. Her current duties at home are fetching water, cooking, and washing clothes. Before her community gained access to clean water, she walked 3 days a week to fetch water for her family, causing her to miss school. There were also no toilets or hand washing facilities at Mashipai’s school, so there are many things she is looking forward to that will change with access to clean water!
"We will not be affected by waterborne diseases. I will have enough water for domestic uses. I will save time. I will have time to go to school... Water means everything. Without it we can't survive."
