Mirriam loves math, reading storybooks, and dreams of being an accountant.

Before her community gained a new Well Aware water well in 2012, Mirriam faced many water scarcity challenges. She was tasked with collecting water for her family, walking 7 kilometers to a river, which sometimes dried up and provided no water at all. Now, 10 years after their well was built, Mirriam says the water has “improved standards of living.”
