Veronica

Veronica used to walk 16 km each day just to collect enough water for her family to drink. She says there used to be conflict over water between households in Salaita, especially in times of drought. Since the implementation of a new borehole well in 2019, we are happy to hear that the community is much more peaceful! Because Veronica is saving time by no longer collecting water for her family, Veronica is now able to work by delivering water to families in her community.

Veronica hopes to learn more about water hygiene, water treatment, and community awareness through Well Aware’s WASH training in the Well Beyond app. She appreciates the water committee that looks over the project and might be on the committee herself one day!
