The Gift of Water – Unwrapped
December 1st – 12th, 2025
This season, Well Aware is replacing our annual gala with a new kind of celebration: The Gift of Water – Unwrapped. For 12 days, we’re bringing our community together online with raffles, surprise guests, our annual Global Impact Awards, and one-of-a-kind moments that connect you directly to the impact of your generosity.
And behind the celebration lies the most important gift of all: clean water for thousands of people still waiting.
gives a family clean water for life.
of our water projects still work today, compared to the industry average of 50%.
This year’s funding is more critical than ever. This has been a turbulent year – for nonprofits, for the global economy, and for the communities we serve. We’ve made tough but necessary choices, cutting our budget and streamlining operations; not because our mission has diminished, but because it matters too much to risk.
Right now, Well Aware is working to ensure every one of our 140 partner communities, and the many more still waiting, has access to safe, reliable water.
You have the power to change lives in more ways than one:
Support our clean water mission by making a direct impact through an online donation or mailed check.
Provide a philanthropic grant through a donor-advised fund (DAF), family foundation, stock, or employer matching.
Recurring gifts enable Well Aware to grow project capacity more than a one-time gift can by providing sustained funding for water project implementation and maintenance throughout the year.

Every gift unravels into a story. Stories like Dennis, Joy, and Charles, where a single water well transformed daily life — ending long, dangerous walks for water and opening doors to education and opportunity. This is what you make possible.
11 years old • Katumani Primary School, Kenya
Fabian loves social studies because it allows him to learn about Kenya’s history and current events. He dreams of becoming a pilot one day, so he can travel the world and explore different cultures. Since the implementation of the new water project at his school, Fabian hasn’t fallen ill from waterborne diseases and feels more confident about his health.
“Water has changed my life.”
6 years old • Salaita, Kenya
Nice loves education and hopes to become a teacher when she grows up. Before she had access to reliable water, she sometimes missed school to walk 3 km and fetch 5 jugs of water. Now that her community has access to clean water, she is happy that “people are healthier and farm animals have enough water.”
13 years old • Musoa Primary School, Kenya
Soloi loves learning about science, particularly health and the human body. He hopes to work in law enforcement when he grows up so he can help maintain peace in Kenya.
“Water is life because it helps in diet and keeping our bodies cool. I have never had access to water during the school day, and now I do.”
14 years old • Nthaani, Kenya
Kilonzo enjoys school because his teachers are kind and work hard to provide quality education. He hopes one day to become a doctor so that he can help people in his community and around Kenya. Access to reliable water has allowed Kilonzo to spend more time on his studies and less time fetching unclean water several kilometers away.
“Now, I can focus on my dreams.”
When you give to The Gift of Water – Unwrapped, you’re not only changing lives today, you’re fueling a stronger tomorrow. Your generosity this giving season will carry into 2026, bringing safe, reliable water to new communities, strengthening our 140 existing partnerships, and ensuring that every person we reach can step into the new year with health, hope, and opportunity.
Thank you for unwrapping the most meaningful gift of the season: clean water.
