Well Aware’s highest honor recognizes outstanding individuals who demonstrate a passion and devotion to addressing the world’s most important social and humanitarian challenges.
Through their organization, Smart Girls, Amy Poehler and Meredith Walker have helped thousands of young people across the globe cultivate their authentic selves by providing a safe and supportive community. Their motto: “Change the World by Being Yourself.” Amy and Meredith wholeheartedly embody Well Aware’s core values of integrity, community, compassion, and innovation. Their dedication to empowering and encouraging the spirits of smart girls everywhere has created a ripple effect of transformation in so many lives. We are excited and honored to celebrate their incredible achievements.
This award commends an exceptional supporter who goes above and beyond to represent and advocate for Well Aware in both their local community and the global community.
Nav is a co-founder of Silicon Labs, a tech entrepreneur, and a global philanthropist who has supported Well Aware’s work since the very beginning. He demonstrates an inspiring dedication to removing barriers for the most vulnerable populations and has contributed greatly to reducing the suffering from water scarcity in last-mile communities. Nav also believes that access to education can be the single biggest factor in an individual reaching a level of full self-sufficiency, and he is committed to empowering others by opening doors to better educational and economic opportunities both here at home and across the globe. Nav has amplified Well Aware’s mission in many ways over the years, and we are honored to celebrate his incredible commitment to the cause.

Musical Performance by Jon Muq
As a vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Jon Muq makes soul-filled pop music that celebrates the magic of human connection, love, and the world’s many wonders. Jon’s music carries listeners on an artful journey through his remarkable life, which began in a small suburban slum in Kampala, Uganda. His joyful work mingles traditional instruments with a spectrum of sounds and rhythms from around the globe and reinforces the power of a song to transform the spirit.

Through this virtual celebration, we’re fundraising to scale our work in 2021 and implement new water systems for communities in great need of a reliable clean water source. Because of the spread of COVID-19 in East Africa and travel restrictions throughout the region, there are communities anxiously awaiting new water projects that have been put on hold.
Your support will not only help ensure we can reach those communities but continue to grow and scale our work, providing thousands of more people with lasting clean water as soon as it is safe to do so.
